MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OE THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />October 6, 1969 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:00 P. M. ~ in the First Assembly of God <br />Church~ 500 West Sixth Street, with the following Councilmen present: <br />Wade Herrin, Vernon S. Evans, J. Ogden Markel, Ray Villa, and Mayor <br />Lorin Griset. Councilmen Walter Brooks and Jerry M. Patterson were <br />absent, but Councilman Patterson arrived later in the meeting. Also present <br />were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William L. Mock, <br />Director of Public Works Ronald Wolford, Director of Planning Van Stevens, <br />and Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />the Regular Meeting of September 15, <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Villa, <br />seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br />unanimously carried, the Minutes of <br />1969 were approved as ,submitted. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL BOARD <br />APPOINT ME NT <br /> <br />1971, on motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Everett Winters was appointed to <br />the Personnel Board to replace W~ldo <br />Hang for the term explrlng Jun~ ~ <br />seconded by Councilman Villa a~::i <br /> <br />BID OPENING DATE On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />CHANGED seconded by Councilman Evans <br /> and unanimously carried, the bid <br />opening change in date from October 1, 1969 to October 14, 19fi~r PROJECT <br />7008 - Construction of a Branch Library on McFadden Avenue between Fairview <br />and Sullivan - was ratified by Council. <br /> <br />Councilman Patterson arrived at the Council meeting at 2:05 P. M. <br /> <br />SPEC. 641-161 - RESCUE- On motion of Councilman I-Ierrin, <br />SALVAGE - SQUAD COMBINATION seconded by Councilman ViIla and <br /> unanimously carried, Council ordered <br />filed report of bid received for Spec. 641-161, One Rescue-Salvage-Squad <br />Combination and awarded contract to Crown Coach Corp., the only bidder. <br /> <br /> PROJECT 6006 - FIRE On motion of Councilman Patterson, <br /> STATION NO. 10 seconded by Councilman Herrin and <br /> unanimously carried, Council ordered <br />~ filed report of bids received for Project 6006, Construction of Fire Station <br />Number 10; awarded contract to the low bidder, First Assurance Company; <br />and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL - 340- October 6, 1969 <br /> <br /> <br />
