EXHIBIT A
Scope of Work
Annual Accomplishment Goal
L Number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served with grant funds during the 12-
month contract period = 300 PERSONS
11. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract
period including, services to be provided, program goals, client characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized.
The objectives of ArtsBridge America in relation to this grant are: (1) to provide ongoing instruction in the arts for
Santa Ana K-12 pupils in a manner that allows them to explore their own creativity while benefiting from the
intrinsic and cross -curricular value of the arts disciplines —especially literacy, mathematics, and the sciences; (2) to
provide continuous, capacity -building professional support for Santa Ana K-12 teachers that affords unique
opportunities to integrate the arts into the traditional curricula in ways that address local, state, and national
standards in the arts; and (3) to provide school -based service leaming opportunities for top university arts students in
the visual and performing arts in local primary and secondary schools.
Since 1996, ArtsBridge has served primary and secondary schools in Santa Ana Unified School District with high
percentages of English Language Learners (often exceeding 90 percent) and at -risk pupils. These schools have
traditionally been in high poverty areas (based on eligibility for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program) and
identified by the State of California as underperforming (based on eligibility for IFUSP interventions and placement
on the state's Academic Performance Index). These schools have been racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse,
but share problems endemic to many of our nation's urban institutions, including lack of funding and lackluster
community and parent involvement.
With support from the Santa Ana Community Development Grant, ArtsBridge will provide meaningful arts
instruction and professional support for classrooms in Santa Ana, focusing on underserved and underfunded schools.
ArtsBridge will influence the cultivation of skills in language arts, mathematics, the arts and sciences among pupils
as well as impact the families and teachers of the pupils. The $10,000 grant will fund stipends and teaching supplies
for ArtsBridge scholars to bring arts instruction to the classrooms. In addition, the grant will fund 5% time of the
ArtsBridge Administrative Coordinator for the program.
Schedule of Performance
Estimate the number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served during the 12-month
contract period per quarter:
Quarter I: July 1 — September 30
Quarter 2: October 1 — December 31
Quarter 3: January 1 — March 31
Quarter 4: April I — June 30
Invoicing Schedule
0
Persons
150
Persons
150
Persons
0
Persons
Total 300
Persons
Estimated the amount of grant funds to be requested during the 12-month contract period on a
quarterly basis:
Quarter I
Quarter 2
Quarter 3
Quarter 4
July 1 — September 30
October 1 — December 31
January 1 — March 31
April 1 —June 30
Total
$ 0
$ 5000
$ 5000
Exhibit A
