8.1 <br /> <br />8.2 <br /> <br />ARTICLE VIII <br />8.0 HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />Legal Holidays observed by full-time permanent and probationary employees of the City of <br />Santa Ana are as follows: <br /> <br />A. January 1 ~ - New Year's Day <br /> <br />B. Third (3rd) Monday in January - In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday <br /> <br />C. Third (3rd) Monday in February - In memory of George Washington's Birthday <br /> <br />D. Last Monday in May - In commemoration of Memorial Day <br /> <br />E. July 4th - In observance of Independence Day <br /> <br />F. First (Ist) Monday of September - In observance of Labor Day <br /> <br />G. November 11th - In observance of Veteran's Day <br /> <br />H. Fourth (4~h) Thursday in November - In observance of Thanksgiving Day <br /> <br />I. The Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day <br /> <br />J. Last working day before Christmas Day, unless Christmas Day falls on Thursday, in <br /> which instance, the day following Christmas Day shall be observed in lieu thereof. <br /> <br />K. December 25th - In observance of Christmas Day <br /> <br />L. One (I) Floating Holiday - Any workday selected by the employee with prior <br /> permission of the employee's supervisor. <br /> <br />M. Every day proclaimed by the Mayor of the City as a holiday for City employees. Any <br /> holiday which falls on a Sunday will be observed on the following Monday. Any <br /> holiday which falls on a Saturday will be observed on the Friday preceding the <br /> holiday. <br /> <br /> Full-time permanent and probationary employees covered by this Agreement shall be entitled <br /> to receive twelve (12) working days off during the calendar year in lieu of the holiday <br /> benefits specified in Section 8.1, supra. However, employees with alternative work <br /> schedules shall be credited with 96 hours of Holiday Time at the beginning of every calendar <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br /> <br />
