Iss: 12/18/03 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-001 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br />CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE <br />PLANNING FOR THE PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS <br />PROGRAM <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby, finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department has received funding from the California <br />Office of Criminal Justice Planning for the Project Safe Neighborhoods <br />program. <br /> <br />The Police Department will use the grant to enhance the efforts of its <br />Career Criminal Unit with the goal of creating safer neighborhoods by <br />reducing gun violence. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and directs <br />the City Manager and the Chief of Police or their designee(s) to execute the grant award <br />agreement with the California Office of Criminal Justice Planning. <br /> <br /> Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby appoints the Chief of <br />Police, or his designee, as agent for the City of Santa Aha to conduct all negotiations, <br />execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, <br />amendments and payment requests which may be necessary for the completion of the <br />aforementioned grant. <br /> <br /> Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the <br />City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />20.A. <br /> <br /> <br />
