NO. 03-110) <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> [] As Recommended <br /> [] As Amended <br /> [] Ordinance on 1st Reading <br /> [] Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br /> r~ Implementing Resolution <br /> [] Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILENUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Ebsco Subscription Services for library magazine <br />subscription service for a period of three years in an annual amount <br />not to exceed $45,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Santa Aha Library provides over 800 annual periodical subscriptions <br />in the Young Adult, Adult, and Juvenile categories. The most economic <br />way of handling a high number of subscriptions with varying expiration <br />dates as well as specific requests for additional periodicals is to <br />utilize a brokerage to order, track and expedite delivery. Ebsco <br />Subscription Services is a sole source subscription service that <br />carries Spanish language titles and information reports such as <br />Bulletin of Serials Changes and Historical Price Analysis Report. <br /> <br />On March 20, 2000, the City Council awarded a contract to Ebsco <br />Subscription Services. Library staff has determined that Ebsco remains <br />the sole source for the service and recommends a new contract in order <br />to maintain continuous magazine subscription service. <br /> <br /> <br />
