Potentially Significant Unless Mitigation Incorporated As mentioned previously, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) regulates air quality in the South Coast Air Basin. The South Coast Air Basin is currently a non-attainment area for carbon monoxide, ozone, particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide. The SCAQMD considers an air quality impact to be significant if it exceeds the thresholds identified in Table 1 below. A relatively minor amount of gaseous emissions would also occur from natural gas and electricity usage. The proposed project would generate approximately, 732 vehicle trips per day. Given the limited amount of vehicle trips generated by the proposed project and the size of the proposed project, ~perational emissions generated by the proposed project are anticipated to be less than significant. Short-term constructed Related Air Quality Impacts Construction operations associated with the proposed project could potentially result in short-term increases in particulate mater, and to a lesser degree increases in carbon monoxide and ozone. Peak day construction emissions for most pollutants would occur during the clearing, excavation and grading phases. The proposed project would require earthwork activity to provide for the construction of building areas and onsite access ways.
