CONSULTANT AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> T~IS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this I'$ ~' day of Octoher, 200! by and <br />between the Boys and Girls Club of Santa ~a, a California public benefit non-profit corporation <br />(hereinafter "Consultant"), and the City of Santa Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation <br />organized and existing under the Constitution and laws of the State of California (hereinafter <br />"City"). <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br />A. The City desires to retain a consultant having special skill and knowledge in the field of <br /> operating a technology laboratory. <br /> <br />B. Consultant represents that Consultant is able and willing to provide such services to the <br /> City. <br /> <br />In undertaking the performance of this Agreement, Consultant represents that it is <br />knowledgeable in its field and that any services performed by Consultant under this <br />Agreement will be performed in compliance with such standards as may reasonably be <br />expected fi:om a professional consulting fn-m in the field. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual and respective promises, and subject to the <br />terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, the parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br /> Consultant shall perform the services of operating a "Power Up" Technology Laboratory <br />as part of the Weed and Seed Site I Special Emphasis Initiative. This activity will include 20 one <br />hour sessions per week for youths between the ages of 6q18. Activities will focus on teaching <br />club members about the uses and benefits of the computer and how to use the intemet and email. <br />All participants will be given free email accounts upon parental permission. Instruction will <br />focus on incorporating "High Yield Learning Activities" that engage members in literacy, <br />mathematics, science, and composition. An average of 10 members will participate per session. <br />By the end of the program, a minimum of 200 different members will have participated in the <br />program. <br /> The Boys and Girls Club will comply with all reporting requirements of the Executive <br />Office for Weed and Seed. Such requirements include providing a monthly report to the City of <br />Santa Ana, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, describing the number of clients <br />served and the type and level of services provided. <br /> The Boys and Girls Club shall comply with all requirements of the Executive Office for <br />Weed and Seed. Any modification to the approved services must be approved and authorized by <br />the Weed and Seed Site I Steering Committee and the Executive Office for Weed and Seed. <br /> <br /> <br />
