CONSULTANT AGREEMENT T~IS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this I'$ ~' day of Octoher, 200! by and between the Boys and Girls Club of Santa ~a, a California public benefit non-profit corporation (hereinafter "Consultant"), and the City of Santa Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation organized and existing under the Constitution and laws of the State of California (hereinafter "City"). RECITALS A. The City desires to retain a consultant having special skill and knowledge in the field of operating a technology laboratory. B. Consultant represents that Consultant is able and willing to provide such services to the City. In undertaking the performance of this Agreement, Consultant represents that it is knowledgeable in its field and that any services performed by Consultant under this Agreement will be performed in compliance with such standards as may reasonably be expected fi:om a professional consulting fn-m in the field. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual and respective promises, and subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, the parties agree as follows: 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES Consultant shall perform the services of operating a "Power Up" Technology Laboratory as part of the Weed and Seed Site I Special Emphasis Initiative. This activity will include 20 one hour sessions per week for youths between the ages of 6q18. Activities will focus on teaching club members about the uses and benefits of the computer and how to use the intemet and email. All participants will be given free email accounts upon parental permission. Instruction will focus on incorporating "High Yield Learning Activities" that engage members in literacy, mathematics, science, and composition. An average of 10 members will participate per session. By the end of the program, a minimum of 200 different members will have participated in the program. The Boys and Girls Club will comply with all reporting requirements of the Executive Office for Weed and Seed. Such requirements include providing a monthly report to the City of Santa Ana, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, describing the number of clients served and the type and level of services provided. The Boys and Girls Club shall comply with all requirements of the Executive Office for Weed and Seed. Any modification to the approved services must be approved and authorized by the Weed and Seed Site I Steering Committee and the Executive Office for Weed and Seed.
