<br />LssO3/10/04 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-022 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA TO EXECUTE .AN AMENDED <br />GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA AS FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />On October 6,2003, the Council approved Resolution 2003-081, <br />authorizing the City Manager and the Chief of Police to execute a <br />grant award agreement with the California Office of Traffic Safety to <br />conduct operational training and enforcement of seat belt violations <br />in support of the Buckle-Up America Operation. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />The Office of Traffic Safety has selected the Santa Ana Police <br />Department to receive additional grant funding in the amount of <br />$95,392.00. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />The additional Grant funding will alloW the Police Department to <br />provide an additional 21-day enforcement operation specifically <br />targeting seatbelt violations, in support of the Buckle-Up America I <br />Operation ABC National Mobilization. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of <br />Police to execute an amended grant award agreement with the California Office <br />of Traffic Safety in the amount of $95,392.00, for a total grant amount of <br />$144,850.00. <br /> <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its <br />adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and <br />certify the vote adopting this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this - day of <br /> <br />,2004. <br /> <br />MigUel A.
