DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Arts and Culture Section of the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency's Youth and Community Services Division utilizes a <br />variety of arts and craft supplies at the 10 after school arts centers. <br />The centers offer art education to the children and youth of the City. <br />The varied curriculum consists of instruction in the visual arts, <br />dance, music, piano, storytelling and theatre. The contract for arts <br />and craft supplies is designed to provide quality products at <br />significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br /> <br />On March 5, 2001, the City Council awarded a contract to Pearl Art & <br />Craft Supplies Inc., for a two-year period with provision for two one- <br />year renewals. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past <br />contract period and staff recommends the final renewal of the contract. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />22G-1 <br />
