NO. 04-011) <br /> <br /> <br />12./2;2 <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />[J As Recommended <br />[J As Amended <br />[J Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />[J Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />[J Implementing Resolution <br />[J Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Stryker Medical Corporation (EMS Equipment) for the <br />purchase of EMS stair chair patient transport equipment in the amount <br />of $12,200.75. <br />. <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services Division requires <br />patient transport stair chairs to assist. in the transporting of <br />patients down flights of stairs and through narrow hallways, or in <br />elevators that are too small to accommodate gurneys. Without the stair <br />chairs, the firefighters have to improvise ways to move patients <br />without harming the patient or themselves. The Stryker Stair-Pro stair <br />chairs are equipped with ergonomic safety fèatures and accessories, and <br />will be used for all frontline medic units. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 26-27, 2004, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />4 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Bid received <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on February 9, 2004.
