Planning Commission Action . <br /> <br />On February 23, 2004, the Planning Commission adopted a resolution <br />approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2004-02 as conditioned, Variance No. <br />2004-01 as conditioned and Neighborhood Project Review No. 2004-01 by a <br />vote of 6:1 (Sinclair opposed, De La Torre absent). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On February 23, 2004, the Planning Commission held a public hearing for <br />the various entitlements associated with the Mercy House Care Home to be <br />known as the San Miguel Residence within the Historic French Park <br />District (Exhibit A). At this hearing, two members of the French Park <br />Neighborhood Association spoke in favor of the project. At the <br />conclusion of the public hearing, the Commission recommended approval due <br />to benefits it would provide to the community. <br /> <br />The San Miguel Residence will contribute to the general well being of the <br />. community by providing housing and supportive services to Orange County <br />residents who are in a period of transition from homeless situations into <br />normal living conditions. Additionally, the design and operation of San <br />Miguel Residence have been developed to ensure compatibility with the <br />surrounding community.
