<br />salary rate ranges(approximately 15%) above his or her then <br />current base monthly salary step in the Police Sergeant class. <br />The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Completion of <br />experience. <br /> <br />(9 ) <br /> <br />years <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />municipal police <br /> <br />nine <br /> <br />Completion (acquisition) of at least one hundred twenty <br />(120) educational/training units; or possession of an <br />Associate of Arts academic degree from an accredited <br />college with an additional sixty (60) or more <br />educational/training units. <br /> <br />Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br />Career Development ProGram - Non-Sworn. Effective the first <br />day of the first full month following Council approval of this <br />Agreement, an incumbent in one of the classes designated as <br />"non-sworn" covered by this Agreement shall earn an additional <br />amount as follows: <br /> <br />6.9 <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Upon attainment of an Associate in Arts Degree and five <br />(5) years' experience with the City of Santa Ana, said <br />employee will be paid at a rate set five (5) salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or her then current <br />base monthly salary step. <br /> <br />Upon attainment of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree <br />and with five (5) years' experience with the City of <br />Santa Ana, said employee will be paid at a rate set an <br />additional (5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) <br />for a total of 10 salary rate ranges (approximately 5%) <br />above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br />If said employee obtains a Bachelor's Degree without <br />attaining an Associate in Arts Degree, he or she will be <br />paid at a rate set ten (10) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 5%) above his or her then current base <br />monthly salary step. <br /> <br />23 <br />
