<br />11. 2 <br /> <br />termination, not to exceed a maximum limit of 1,066 <br />hours, as defined in "2" above. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />After 25 years of cumulative full-time service with <br />the City, each qualified employee shall be entitled <br />to one of two options: (a) payment for 2/3 of the <br />total sick leave benefit credited to his or her <br />account upon the effective date of such <br />termination, not to exceed a maximum limit of 1,066 <br />hours, at the rate of pay in effect on the date of <br />such termination, or (b) credit for 2/3 of the <br />total sick leave benefit credited to his or her <br />account upon the effective date of such <br />termination, not to exceed a maximum limit of 1,066 <br />hours, as defined in "2" above. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />At the employee's election, payment for unused sick <br />leave in the above provisions may be received in <br />ei ther a lump sum of money, or in equal monthly <br />payments for a period of up to five (5) years. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />A lump sum payment shall be made to the <br />beneficiaries of any eligible employee whose death <br />occurs while such employee is an active employee of <br />the City, such payment to be in the amount of 1/3 <br />of the total sick leave benefit credited to the <br />employee's account at the time of his or her death, <br />and at the rate of pay effective on the date of <br />death. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Upon the death of any retired employee receiving a <br />benefit under this provision said benefit will <br />continue to be provided on behalf of said retired <br />employee to his or her beneficiary. <br /> <br />Bereavement Leave. An employee shall be granted up to <br />three (3) days leave without loss of pay in case of death <br />of a member of the employee's immediate family. For <br />purposes of this Section only, a "day" shall be defined <br />as the number of hours of work that an employee is <br />required to work according to his/her specific workday <br />schedule. Such leave is designated as bereavement leave. <br />"Immediate family" as used in this section is limited to: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Any relative by blood or marriage who is a member <br />of the employee's household; <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />A parent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, brother, <br /> <br />47 <br />
