This analysis, assisted by the Personnel Services <br />Department, included an examination of the duties and responsibilities of <br />various job classifications and an evaluation of workload. As a result of <br />this review, the Fire Department is proposing to eliminate four positions, <br />add one position and reallocate one position from the Library to the Fire <br />Department. <br /> <br />Specifically, the Fire Department proposes that one Secretary and three <br />Senior Office Assistant positions be deleted from the Fire Department <br />budget. The Department also proposes to add one Accounting Assistant <br />position and to reallocate one Principal Management Analyst position from <br />the Library to the Fire Department. These changes will result in greater <br />efficiency and effectiveness in meeting Department obj ecti ves, as well as <br />ensure that assigned job classification titles accurately reflect the work <br />to be performed. <br /> <br />The Police Department has conducted a similar review of positions wi thin <br />the administrative unit of the Police Department. As a result, the <br />Department proposes that one Senior Accounting Assistant position and one <br />Senior Office Assistant position be deleted from the Department's budget <br />and that one Management Aide position be added to it.
