N"tJJi;rZ <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />,.1 <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to TFN Architectural Signage, Inc., a Santa Ana <br />vendor, to provide all labor, materials, and incidentals to implement <br />. graphics and signage for the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park - New <br />Children's Zoo in the amount of $97,425.71. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The new children's zoo, the Crean Family Farm, is currently under <br />construction in the southwest corner of the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice <br />Park. The two-acre site is scheduled to open in the summer of 2004, <br />and will feature eight buildings, including a two-story barn with an <br />education classroom that will house a wide 'variety of rare domestic <br />animals. Within the farm setting, children will learn about our <br />community's agricultural heritage, the value of genetic diversity, and <br />the need for conversation. <br /> <br />Graphics and signage required to enhance the Crean Family Farm include <br />animal location and identification signs, encyclopedic signs explaining <br />each animal, their origin and character, and a sign for program events. <br />The recommended action will allow for the installation of the graphics <br />and signage component. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />22C-1 <br />
