<br />Appropriation Adjustment Recognizing <br />Housing Choice Voucher Family <br />Self-Sufficiency Funding <br />April 19, 2004 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Recommended that the Housing Authority: <br /> <br />a} <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution No. HA 2004-03 <br />Funding Increment CA093VOOF04. <br /> <br />approving <br /> <br />Housing <br /> <br />Voucher <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Authorize the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of <br />the City of Santa Ana to execute all documents on behalf of <br />the Housing Authority. <br /> <br />Bya vote of 7:0 at its Regular Meeting of April 6, 2004. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Housing Authority has received notification from the U.S. Department <br />of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that the Authority has been <br />awarded $121,200 to fund the staff cost associated with implementing the <br />Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. <br /> <br />The FSS program, implemented by the Housing Authority of the City of <br />Santa Ana in 1995, currently has 190 participants enrolled. In order to <br />be competitive for future funding, Housing Authorities are required to <br />have implemented FSS programs. The FSS funding is provided by HUD to <br />help offset the increase in administrative costs associated with the <br />implementation of the support programs. <br /> <br />Housing Authority staff will facilitate the development of <br />educational/training goals for program participants. In addition, they <br />will assist in providing life skills and homeownership training. <br /> <br />20A-2 <br />
