Within <br />the park system, there are 22 reserved soccer fields that are used by <br />the Santa Ana Adult Soccer League (SASA) and the Santa Ana Youth Soccer <br />United leagues (SAYSU). The fields are used seven days per week, seven <br />months per year; however, only half of the soccer fields have lighting, <br />limiting the number of games played at night. The purchase of four <br />portable light towers will provide lighting at Cesar Chavez-Campesino <br />Park, allowing for up to 28 additional soccer games per week. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 25-26, 2004 and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />23 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />5 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />5 Bids received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on March 23, 2004 (Exhibit 1).
