NO. 04-044) <br /> <br />'¥ <br /> <br />CUJa~ <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Gallade Chemical, Inc. for a one-year period, with <br />provision for three one-year renewals, for the purchase of water <br />8 treatment salt, in an annual amount not to exceed $25,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Central Stores section of the Finance and Management Services Agency <br />provides salt to the Public Works Agency for the treatment of drinking <br />water. Recent changes to the California Health and Safety Code <br />regarding the California Safe Drinking Water Act now mandate that any <br />product added to drinking water must be tested and certified as meeting <br />the specifications of the American National Standard Institute's <br />National Sanitation Foundation Standard 60. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on April 5-6, 2004, and bids <br />were solicited.
