Award a contract to American Asphalt South, Inc., the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />8 estimated amount of $78,334.50 for construction of Santa Ana Automall <br />rubberized slurry seal. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $114,100. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Automall is a major commercial center, which provides a <br />centralized location for automobile dealerships in Santa Ana (Exhibit 1). <br />The rehabilitation of pavement on Automall Drive, which runs through the <br />Automall, has been identified in the City's pavement management system. <br />The project includes installation of rubberized slurry seal, pavement <br />repair, and re-striping of the street. Once completed, this project will <br />enhance the visual appearance of the Automall and extend the lifespan of <br />the pavement. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 17 and 19, 2004 and bids <br />were opened on April 9, 2004.
