PMP is an
essential tool to determine the condition of the pavement, the
expected life, the recommended treatment, and the cost associated.
This program will enable the City to prioritize the pavement
rehabilitation proj ects where it's most cost effective. Pavement
condition surveys are typically done every two years for arterial
streets and every five years for local streets.

The City's PMP for local streets was last updated in 1999. In
order to provide an accurate assessment of the rehabilitation
needs, a new field survey needs to be performed. The update will
also include converting the pavement data to the City's Geographic
Information System (GIS) format that will be used for the trench
cut fee program. This will improve coordination of our City
Capital Improvement Program, with new development projects and
utility company excavations.

8

25F-1
