<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />8CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />MAY 17, <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />2004 <br /> <br />AMENDED AGREEMENT - SYMCO <br />GROUP, INC. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />0 As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />0 Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />0 Ordinance on 2"' Reading <br />0 Implementing Resolution <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />~J~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with Symco <br />Group, Inc, extending the agreement through June 30, 2005, in an amount <br />not to exceed $70,000 for mainframe computer maintenance, equipment and <br />technical services. <br /> <br />8DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The City's computerized financial system relies on the Information <br />Services Division to input, process, and post daily transactions to the <br />Lawson financial system and Business Licensing systems. To accomplish this <br />task, the Information Services staff utilizes Unisys V380 mainframe <br />computer equipment maintained by the Symco Group, Inc. The first one-year <br />extension to the agreement with the Symco Group, Inc. will expire on June <br />30, 2004. Under the terms of the initial agreement, the City has the <br />option to extend the term for a second additional year. <br /> <br />Consistent with the terms and conditions of the existing agreement, staff <br />proposes to redefine the scope of the work to include the purchase of <br />replacement sub-assemblies in the case of a failure or other reason not <br />covered by the maintenance services of the agreement. Such purchases would <br />not exceed $12,930. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Funds are available in General Fund Information Services (account 11-179- <br />6291) . <br /> <br /> <br />AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />7 <br /> <br />ri R.
