COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT NO. 2004-11 FOR THRIFT STORE AS <br />CONDITIONED FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2118 <br />SOUTH BRISTOL STREET <br /> <br />---..--..---- <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit No. 2004-11 came before the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Santa Ana for a duly noticed public hearing on <br />May 10, 2004. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting approval of Conditional Use Permit No. 2004- <br />11 for a thrift shop for the property located at 2118 South Bristol Street. <br /> <br />1. Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 41-377.5 (d) of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code allows thrift shops subject to the issuance of a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 41-638 authorizes the Planning <br />Commission to grant a conditional use permit upon making certain <br />findings. <br /> <br />i. The proposed use will provide a service or facility, which will <br />contribute to the general well being of the neighborhood or <br />the community. <br /> <br />The Goodwill thrift store will provide a service to the <br />area by selling secondhand products at a reduced <br />price to the economically disadvantaged of the <br />community. <br /> <br />Will the proposed use under the circumstances of the <br />particular case be detrimental to the health, safety, or <br />general welfare of persons residing or working in the <br />vicinity? <br /> <br />The proposed thrift store will not be detrimental to the <br />welfare of persons in the area as the use is identical <br />to retail uses in the immediate vicinity and will be <br />conditioned to be conducted within an enclosed <br />building. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />ii. <br /> <br />31A-14 <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2004-10 <br />
