COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />MAY 17. 2004 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION <br />NUMBER 2001-065 TO PROVIDE FOR <br />CONTINUATION OF ADDITIONAL <br />PARTIALLY-PAID TEMPORARY <br />MILITARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE <br />FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />D As Recommended <br />D As Amended <br />D Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />D Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />D Implementing Resolution <br />D Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />(1''''1 <br /> <br />(1ihv2~ <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />-" <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to provide for continuation <br />of additional partially-paid temporary military leave of absence for city <br />~loyees called to active duty with the armed forces, and continuation of <br />~efits for their dependents. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On October 1, 2001, the Santa Ana City Council adopted Resolution No. 2001- <br />065, providing for additional partially-paid military leave of absence for <br />full-time officers or employees of the City called to active military service <br />with the Armed Forces of the United States in connection with the then- <br />current military crisis. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-070 extended the termination date of the above Resolution <br />to midnight June 30, 2004, unless extended by further action of the City <br />Council. The City Council will continue to help City employees and their <br />families with financial hardships resulting from being called to active duty <br />in connection with the current military crisis by adopting a Resolution <br />extending the effective termination date to midnight June 30, 2005. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no fiscal impact as a result of this change. <br /> <br /> <br />Agency <br /> <br />558-1 <br />
