<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />_TV COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />JUNE 7, 2004 <br />TITLE <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT <br />FEMA ASSISTANCE TO <br />CERT PROGRAM <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />0 As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />0 Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />0 Ordinance on 2" Reading <br />0 Implementing Resolution <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />ITVMANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting $14,401 in funding from the <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Community Emergency Response <br />Team (CERT) grant for fiscal year 2002 and 2003 and appropriating the <br />funds to the FEMA CERT grant expenditure account. <br /> <br />8rSCUSSION <br /> <br />The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Community Emergency Response <br />Team (CERT) grant provides communities with funding to initiate, organize, <br />train and maintain programs that enhance a community's emergency <br />preparedness program. Santa Ana has developed several emergency response <br />programs that will increase the ability of our community members to prepare <br />for and respond to disasters and other emergencies, including acts of <br />terrorism. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will increase revenues in the FEMA <br />CERT grant revenue account (account no. 146-01-5350-2) by $28,802 and <br />appropriating it into the FEMA CERT grant expenditure account (account no. <br />146-328-6641) for the expenditure of miscellaneous expenses for the CERT <br />program. <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />~ (/ú_) <br />Phillip Garcia' <br />ALre Chief <br />"ire Department <br /> <br /> <br />oma <br />Director <br />and Mgmt.
