The upgrade will <br />include the installation of variable speed motor drives. The existing <br />pump motors operate with low efficiency and are not compatible with a <br />variable speed motor drive. The motors will be replaced with 96.4 <br />percent efficient motors that are compatible with a variable speed <br />motor drive. Once the upgrade at the Walnut Pumping Station is <br />complete, the pumps will start more smoothly, use less energy, and the <br />pressure surging into the water lines will be reduced. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on <br />bids were solicited.
