COMMENTS <br /> <br />· Asked the City Manager to look at reports that the City of Garden <br /> Grove is working on a theme park for that City and asked for a written <br /> report on how such a venture would impact Santa Ana streets <br />· Thanked the SEIU and part time employees for coming to terms on a <br /> new employment contract with the City <br />· Asked the City Manager to provide an. update on the location of the <br /> Court of Appeals <br />· Asked the Executive Director, Parks, Recreation and Community <br /> Services Agency to notify residents concerning any meetings that will <br /> be held between the Little League and Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission on the status of the temporary T-ball fields at Riverview <br /> Park; She also asked that the Agency provide informational flyers to <br /> the residents in the area <br />· Announced that the annual Youth Expo would be held on March 16th <br /> from 12:00p.m to 4:00 p.m. at Centennial Park and noted that the <br /> Mariachi Festival will be held at the Santa Ana Stadium on Saturday, <br /> May 10, 2003 -which is the day before Mother's Day <br />· Wished everyone a happy St. Patrick's Day <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Franklin: <br />· Asked staff to proved an update to the City Council relative to the <br /> status of the T-ball fields at Riverview-Park and asked staff to work <br /> closely with the Riverview Neighborhood Association <br />· Noted that Communication Linkage Forum (ComLink) is a broad based <br /> community organization which provides an invaluable service to the <br /> public; he attended a recent meeting where there were over 100 <br /> people in attendance <br />· Reminded residents that everyone is welcome to come to the City <br /> Council meetings and address the City Council; he further noted that <br /> all police shootings are thoroughly investigated by outside agencies as <br /> well as the Santa Ana Police Department <br />· Announced that the annual Floral Park Homes and Garden Tour would <br /> be held on April 26-27, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />· Reminded residents that there would be a composting workshop at <br /> Fullerton Arboretum on March 8, 2003 <br />· Asked the City Council to adjourn in memory of Romayne Malloy who <br /> was a family friend as well as a Ioog time Santa Ana Resident. <br /> Romayne was the mother of three sons, Todd, Craig, and Scot who <br /> attended Santa Ana High School; all three of her sons were admitted <br /> to and graduated from the US Naval Academy. Romayne was active <br /> in the Presbyterian Church and in city affairs for years; she was <br /> extremely active in the PTA and was a member of the Santa Ana <br /> Council for the Arts. Following the death of her husband, she ran the <br /> gear manufacturing business they owned.
