Offers of employment <br />to prospective employees are conditional upon successful completion of <br />a pre-placement medical exam and drug test. In addition, periodical <br />examinations are provided for current City employees as required by law <br />or under special circumstances. The City's objective is to give equal <br />consideration in employment to all applicants who can reasonably be <br />expected to perform the jobs' various tasks, with or without special <br />accommodation, and without undue risk to themselves, co-workers, or the <br />public. In order to meet the objective, the City contracts with a <br />medical center for the services. <br /> <br />The notice inviting proposals was advertised on May 12 and 14, 2004, <br />and proposals were solicited. A pre-proposal meeting was held on May <br />18, 2004 and terms and conditions of the Request For Proposal were <br />discussed.
