The grant allows funding for the Police Department's <br />Traffic Section to deploy a mobile, multi-media Driving Under the <br />Influence (D. U. I. ) education and driving simulation classroom custom <br />designed fifth-wheel trailer. The trailer will be taken to Santa Ana <br />high schools, colleges, and other venues with the goal of providing an <br />educational program to students ages 15-22. The D.U.I. mobile <br />classroom will showcase an externally projected video, and feature <br />contemporary music and content designed to appeal to the younger <br />driver. <br /> <br />In December 2003, the City entered into an agreement with Mattman <br />Specialty Vehicles for the purchase of a mobile multi-media D. U. I. <br />classroom fifth-wheel trailer. Upon completion, the trailer requires a <br />big screen television for the exterior, in order to showcase an <br />educational video that will be shown to students while waiting to go <br />inside the classroom. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />22J-1 <br /> <br />cs.
