S. <br />Communities and County of Orange contracts for a total aggregate amount <br />8 not to exceed $87,500 with the following vendors: <br /> <br />Haworth, Inc. School Specialty Steel case (Tangram Interiors) <br />McMahan Desk Virco Herman Miller, Inc. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />In April 2000, the City Council approved construction of the Crean <br />Family Farm, a new children's zoo on a two-acre site at the Santa Ana <br />Zoo at Prentice Park. The farm includes eight buildings, including a <br />two-story barn with education classroom. To facilitate the educational <br />benefits the farm offers to visitors, furniture items such as folding <br />tables, folding and stacking chairs, lecterns, and audiovisual carts <br />are needed. <br /> <br />In addition, the City occasionally purchases various furniture items <br />for staff. The items include: desks, modular and computer <br />workstations, seating, filing and storage cabinets, bookcases, and <br />ergonomic keyboard platforms with articulating arms. <br /> <br />U. s. Communities recently awarded contracts for furniture with <br />manufacturers such as Haworth, Herman Miller, Inc., School Specialty, <br />Steel case (Tangram Interiors), and Virco. The County of Orange has a <br />8 contract with McMahan Desk, a dealer that represents various <br />manufacturers such as: Ergonomic Comfort Design (ECD), McDowell-Craig, <br />WorkRite, Hon, and Verst eel. <br /> <br />22P-1 <br /> <br />cs.
