Communities contract with Hughes <br />annual amount not to exceed $15,000. <br /> <br />On February 2, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract for the <br />purchase of a new fire pumper. The new pumper replaces a 1981 model, <br />and has an anticipated delivery of October 2004. In order to be placed <br />into service, the pumper requires various types and sizes of tools to <br />meet current inventory standards. Such items needed include hammers, <br />wrenches, pI iers, and channel locks. Therefore, the purchase of new <br />hand tools is necessary in order for the apparatus to be fully <br />operational. <br /> <br />u.S. Communities recently awarded a contract for such tools with Hughes <br />Supply, Inc. The City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-2312 <br />authorizing the City to purchase against contracts with other <br />government agencies utilizing a competitive bid process. The <br />recommended vendor for the purchase of hand tools was awarded a <br />contract as a result of open, competitive bidding, and will provide <br />steep discounts from list price and meets the City's requirements. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />22R-1 <br /> <br />CS.383 <br />
