Award a contract to Palp, Inc. dba Excel Paving Company, the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />estimated amount of $718,598.45 for intersection improvements at <br />Fairview Street and Warner Avenue. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $898,500. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fairview Street and Warner Avenue intersection is experiencing high <br />traffic volume and is in need of widening in order to improve the level <br />of service (Exhibit 1). Improvements proposed include the addition of <br />dual left-turn lanes in all directions, traffic signal modification and <br />resurfacing of the intersection. Once completed, these improvements will <br />improve safety and traffic flow of the intersection. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on May 7 and 10, 2004, and bids <br />were opened on May 26, 2004.
