Neighborhood Permit Parking Program-In residential areas, parking permit <br />programs are used as a means of ensuring that sufficient on-street parking is <br />available for local residents by restricting non-resident parking during specific time <br />periods. <br /> <br />. Parking and Street Maintenance - The City has a comprehensive program for <br />maintaining major traffic corridors in the City. The program identifies guidelines for <br />landscaping median and parkway areas, street furniture, lighting., and other street- <br />scape improvements. The City has also prioritized the relocation of above-ground <br />utilities underground. <br /> <br />. Roadway Improvement Program- This Circulation Element identifies significant <br />roadway improvements that are considered as part of its implementation. <br />Recommendations include the changes to the MPSH identified in Exhibit A-6. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Transportation Demand Management - Santa Ana has adopted a Transportation <br />Demand Management (TDM) Ordinance which is deigned to reduce peak travel <br />demands associated with commuter trips. Employers of 100 or more persons in <br />nay new development are subject to the TDM ordinance and are required to <br />implement programs to aid in reducing peak hour traffic demands based upon <br />traffic volumes generated by their project. Collectively, these efforts can be <br />expected to result in lower peak traffic volumes on City streets. The City <br />continues to support strategies include din the TDM program which can lessen <br />the need for peak period travel. <br /> <br />. Neighborhood Traffic Management Program- In residential areas that experience <br />significant commuter or "cut-throuqh" traffic on local streets, the City conducts <br />traffic impact assessment and tho noighborhood devolops a traffic plan is <br />developed in accordance with California Vehicle Code Section 21101 (f) and the <br />rules and requlations contained in Resolution 2004- . as they may be amended <br />from time to time. The traffic planwRiGR may includee traffic diverters or other <br />mechanisms roadway desiqn features to reduce "cut-through" traffic.
