TO PROVIDE CIVIL <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> <br />D As Recommended <br />D As Amended <br />D Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />D Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />D Implementing Resolution <br />D Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authori:.;:;e the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with HNTB <br />Corp. to provide civil engineering services, increasing the amount by <br />$100,000 for a total contract amount of $400,000 and extending the term <br />~f the agreement to August 31, 2005. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />In August 2001 the Public Works Agency contracted with HNTB Corp. to <br />provide as-needed engineering and landscape services. These services are <br />required to augment City staff to complete the design of various public <br />works improvement projects in a timely manner. Two projects, The Dan <br />Young Soccer Field and Festival Hall, were designed by HNTB and are now <br />under construction. HNTB Corp.' s expertise is required to perform <br />construction support and specialized structural engineering services to <br />complete these projects. An increase in the amount of the contract is <br />required since the remaining balance on the original contract is not <br />enough to cover these services. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br />In accordance with the California Environmental <br />recommended action is not considered a CEQA <br />environmental documentation is required. <br /> <br />Quality Act (CEQA), the <br />project.
