The service includes the review and monitoring of federal <br />executive proposals and legislation, as well as administrative rules and <br />regulations that may affect the City. The Ferguson Group also assists the <br />City with grant applications and other special programs for which the City <br />may qualify. <br /> <br />The Ferguson Group has recently assisted with appropriation requests for <br />the Bristol Street Widening Project, the water well rehabilitation project, <br />Economic Development grants, Section 108 loan applications, Department of <br />Justice and recreation programs, including Weed and Seed and COPS. During <br />2004, the Ferguson Group is advocating on behalf of the City's request for <br />funding for the Bristol street widening project and Santa Ana's Empowerment <br />Zone. <br /> <br />The Ferguson Group has also provided significant assistance on locating and <br />advocating for grant opportunities. Beginning in 2001, the Ferguson Group <br />began a new grant locator service, eCivis. Through this program, the City <br />has been able to identify applicable grants in a timely manner, and has <br />utilized the service to secure a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Department of <br />8 Education. The City's contract with the Ferguson Group includes unlimited <br />user accounts for use by staff in various City departments. <br /> <br />25G-1 <br />
