LEGISLATION On motion of Councilman Herrin,
seconded by Councilman Villa and
unanimously carried, Council
instructed the City Manager to take all possible steps to oppose any bill
in the State Legislature which would act to restrict the present ability of
the City of Santa Ana to make its own decisions or that would divest the
City of any such right and give it to the State.

OBSCENE BOOK STORES Mrs. Irene Schleis, 1213 South
Birch Street, asked Council if
something couldn't be done about
closing the dirty book stores.
