TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />COMMITTEE REPORT (continued) <br /> <br />possible, and (2) that a signal warrant study be undertaken at the intersection <br />of First Street and Jackson Street and that the concerned residents be informed, <br />within a couple of weeks, as to the results of the study. The motion was <br />adopted on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Herrin, Evans, <br />NOES: Markel <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto, Griset <br /> <br />EMINENT DOMAIN On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br /> seconded by Councilman Evans and <br /> unanimously carried, the letter dated <br />January 29, 1970 from Townsend Company, Cherry Rivet Division, requesting <br />initiation of eminent domain to acquire a public easement generally located <br />between the Southern Pacific Railroad track and Emmett Street was referred <br />to the City Attorney for report back to Council. <br /> <br />ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT Council considered the letter dated <br />MASTER PLAN STUDY February 9, 1970, from Fountain <br /> Valley School District requesting a <br />resolution of support to eliminate a proposed airpark in HOLF Mile Square. <br />It was moved by Councilman Markel, seconded by Councilman Evans, to <br />approve a resolution of support and endorse the position of the Fountain Valley <br />School District in their approach to the Board of Supervisors, which motion <br />failed adoption on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Markel, Yamamoto <br />Herrin, Evans, Patterson, Villa, Griset <br />None <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman PIerrin, seconded by Councilman Yamamoto and <br />unanimously carried, the letter from the Fountain Valley School District <br />was ordered filed. <br /> <br />FEDERAL FLOOD The letter dated February 9, 1970 <br />INSURANCE PROGRAM from Assemblyman Robert G. Beverly <br /> regarding procedure for cities to <br />secure flood and landslide insurance protection for their property owners <br />was referred to staff for appropriate action., on motion of Councilman Villa, <br />seconded by Councilman Patterson and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />TOPICS PROGRAM The letter dated January 23, 1970 from <br /> the State Department of Public Works <br /> regarding apportionment and City's use <br />of funds was referred to staff for recommendation and development of integrated <br />program on motion of Councilman V~lla, seconded by Councilman Herrin, on the <br />following ro].l call vote: <br /> <br /> AYI']S: Herrin, Evans~ Patterson, Markel, Yamamoto, Villa, Griset <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -43- February 16, 1970 <br /> <br /> <br />
