MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 29, 1970 <br /> <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council was convened at 7:15 P.M., in <br />the Mayor's office at City Hall, 217 North Main Street, proper notice <br />and posting having been accomplished, with evidence on file in the <br />office of the Clerk of the Council. The following Councilmen were <br />present: Wade Herrin, J. Ogden Markel, Jerry M. Patterson, <br />Harry K. Yamamoto and Mayor Lorin Griset. Councilmen Vernon <br />S. Evans and Ray Villa were absent, but Councilman Villa arrived at <br />7:25 P.M. Also present were Assistant City Manager Bruce Spragg, <br />Clerk of the Council Florence Malone and a representative of the Press. <br /> <br />1970-1971 BUDGET The proposed Annual Budget for <br /> the fiscal year 1970-1971 was <br /> considered by Council on a page- <br />by-page basis. The Assistant City Manager reviewed the recommended <br />capital expenditures, listed in order of priority~ which have not been <br />funded. The method of Federal Government participation in approved <br />proposed park development was described as a reimbursement type program; <br />that is, 50 percent of the money actually invested by the City toward <br />such development would be reimbursed by Federal grant. <br /> <br />Councilman Villa expressed his concern for completion of Delhi Park <br />as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Councilman Patterson asked for additional information regarding utility <br />and sewer taxes that might be levied to fund the Capital Improvement <br />Program. <br /> <br />Councilman Yarnamoto suggested there might be some items in_the <br />proposed budget that could be deleted in favor of some of the unfunded <br />improve me nts. <br /> <br />The Council examined and discussed pages 1 through 49 of the proposed <br />budget. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />At 10:05 P.M., the meeting was <br />adjourned. <br /> <br />Florence I.
