RES. 70-99 It was moved by Councilman <br />COURT ACTION Patterson, seconded by Councilman <br /> Herrin and unanimously carried, to <br />waive full reading and consider by title only RESOLUTION 70-99 REQUESTING <br />THAT THE COUNTY OF ORANGE DEFEND THE ACTION FOR THE RECOVERY <br />OF TAXES PAID UNDER PROTEST FILED BY FAIR TIME SHOWS, INC., A <br />CORPORATION, AGAINST THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 70-99 was adopted, On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />by Councilman Patterson and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES <br /> <br />execution of agreement with Burrows, <br />for recreation buildings in Sandpointe <br /> <br />On motion of CounciIman Herrin, <br />seconded by Councilman Markel and <br />unanimously carried, Council authorized <br />Allen & Knowles for architectural services <br />Park, Westwood Park and Birch Park. <br /> <br />ENCROACHMENT Execution of agreement with James T. <br /> Moore and Jewett C. Norris for an <br /> encroaching sign at 316 N. Harbor <br />Boulevard was authorized, on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by <br />Councilman Evans and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />TRACT MAP AGREEMENT Execution by the Mayor and Clerk of <br /> agreement with Federated Department <br /> Stores regarding Lots 2 through 9, <br />Tract Map 2805, was authorized, on motion of Councilman Markel, seconded <br />by Councilman Herrin and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />COMPLAINT A letter dated September 22, 1970 from <br /> David A. Hayes. 501 E. Buffalo, <br /> concerning condition of vacant lot <br />located at 2200 N. Valencia and 500 E. Buffalo, was referred to staff for <br />report at October 19 Council meeting, on motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />seconded by Councilman Patterson and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />MUNICIPAL BOWL INCIDENT Council considered the letter dated <br /> September 22, 1970, from Joan S. <br /> Bonebrake, 12421 Eveningside Drive, <br />regarding a fracas at the Municipal Bowl after a ~ootball game on September <br />18 and requesting more police protection. Mrs. Bonebrake was present and <br />it was explained to her that the police have changed some of their procedures <br />so that toward the end of the games, in the future, police will be stationed <br />outside of the stadium and will be able to minimize indidents of this sort; <br />school officials also will be cooperating in any way they can. <br /> <br />VARIANCE AND CONDITIONAL On motion of Councilman Patterson, <br />USE PERMIT seconded by Councilman Villa and <br /> carried, with Councilman Markel <br />voting "No", Council adopted the findings of fact, conclusions and decisions <br />of the Planning Commission as action of the City Council on the following: <br /> <br />VA 70-43, WARD INVESTMENT CO. - construct 99 unit garden <br />apartment complex in A 1 District at 2330-2350 N. Glassell - <br />~DENIED; <br />VA 70-44, WES,TERN FUNDING & DEVELOPMENT CO. <br />construct 2 story 48 unit apartment complex in A'l;-and R 2 <br />Districts at 517 S. Newhope - APPROVED; <br />VA 70-45, WILSHIRE CENTER DEVELOPMENT CO. - <br />permit tandem offstreet parking for proposed office <br />complex in C2 District at 1200 N.
