<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JULY 19, 2004 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />&Áa----- <br /> <br />0 As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />0 Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />0 Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />0 Implementing Resolution <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WITH <br />WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT <br />YOUTH PROGRAM SUBCONTRACTORS <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to extend the <br />contract with the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana to provide <br />leadership training and work experience for in-school youth through <br />June 30, 2005, and to increase the amount of the agreement by $71,361 <br />not to exceed $128,750. <br /> <br />2 . <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to extend the <br />contract with the California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug <br />Abuse to assist youth with substance abuse problems to find jobs <br />through June 30, 2005, and to increase the amount of the agreement by <br />$94,505 not to exceed $166,384. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to extend the <br />contract with the Orange County Conservation Corps to provide paid <br />on-the-job training to high school dropouts through June 30, 2005, <br />and to increase the amount of the agreement by $163,937 not to exceed <br />$324,687. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to extend the <br />contract with the Santa Ana Unified School District to provide <br />mentoring and paid work experience to youth through June 30, 2005, <br />and to increase the amount of the agreement by $117,649 not to exceed <br />$228,394. <br /> <br />25C-1 <br />
