<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />JULY 19, 2004 <br />TITLE: <br />PUBLIC HEARING - GENERAL PLAN <br />AMENDMENT NO. 2004-04 TO AMEND <br />VARIOUS S:e:CTtONS OF TH:e: G:e:N:e:RAL <br />PLAN TO ADDR:e:SS WATER QUALITY <br /> <br /> <br />"PRm='f2A2 <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />0 As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />0 Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />0 Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />0 Implementing Resolution <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Approve and adopt the Negative Declaration, Environmental Review No. <br />2004-143. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Adopt a resolution approving General Plan Amendment No. 2004-04. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> <br />On June 28, 2004, the Planning Commission recommended that the City <br />Council approve and adopt the Negative Declaration, Environmental Review <br />No. 2004-143 and adopt a resolution approving General Plan Amendment No. <br />2004-04 by a vote of 7:0 to amend various sections of the General Plan to <br />address water quality protection (Exhibit A) . <br /> <br />DISCtJSSION <br /> <br />On June 28, 2004, the Planning Commission held a public hearing to amend <br />and update various sections of the City's General Plan to address water <br />quality protection as required by Federal and State agencies. The <br />overall goal of these requirements are to protect incoming water for <br />beneficial uses such as municipal and domestic water supply, agriculture, <br />recreation, and aquatic biological habitats.
