MINUTES OF THE <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />November 5, 1970 <br /> <br />The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to order at <br />4:15 P. M., in the Mayor's Office, City Hall, 217 North Main Street, proper <br />notice thereon having been given and evidence thereof on file with the Clerk <br />of the Council. The following Councilmen were present: Wade Herrin, <br />Vernon S. Evans, Ray Villa, Harry K. ~amamoto, and Mayor Lorin Griset. <br />Councilman J, Ogden Markel and Councilman Jerry M. Patterson were <br />absent, but Councilman Patterson arrived at 4:20 P.M. Also present <br />were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, Assistant City Manager Bruce Spragg, <br />Department Heads, Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone and representatives <br />of the Press. <br /> <br />1970-71 BUDGET The City Manager presented his report <br />REVISIONS dated November 5, 1970, "Proposed <br /> Revisions 1970-71 Budget". It listed <br />revenue reductions in the amount of $1, 647,000 and described expenditure <br />reductions, deleted from the 1970-71 Budget, in the same amount. The City <br />Manager then reviewed the report, item-by-item. <br /> <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Patterson, seconded by <br />Councilman Herrin to approve the City Manager's proposed revisions to the <br />1970-71 Budget on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Herrin, Patterson, Villa, <br />Evans <br />Markel <br /> <br />Yamamoto, Griset <br /> <br />PROJECT 7017 On motion of Councilman Herrin, <br />REPLACEMENT ROOFING seconded by Councilman Patterson and <br /> unanimously carried, Council ordered <br />filed report of bids received for Project 7017, Construct Replacement Roofing <br />for Fire Department Headquarters Building; awarded contract to the low <br />bidder, Lister Roofing; rejected the alternate bid; and rejected all other <br />bids, <br /> <br />PROJECT 6035 On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded <br />SANDPOINTE PARK by Councilman Villa and unanimously <br /> carried, Council ordered filed report of <br />bids received for Project 6035, Construction of concrete tennis court and all- <br />purpose court in Sandpointe Park, and rejected all bids received because <br />of budget revisions. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />-331- <br /> <br />November 5, 1970 <br /> <br /> <br />
