MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />January 8, 1971 <br /> <br />The Special Meeting was called to order at 9:05 A.M., in the Mayor's Office, <br />City Hall, 217 North Main Street, with the following Councilmen present: <br />Wade Herrin, Vernon S. Evans, J. Ogden Markel, Jerry M. Patterson, Harry <br />K. Yamamoto, and Mayor Lorin Griset. Councilman Ray Villa was absent. <br />Also present were City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney William L. <br />Mock, Clerk of the Council Florence I. Malone, and representatives of the <br />Press. <br /> <br />Proper notice of the Special Meeting had been mailed and posted by the Clerk of <br />the Council, with affidavits of Notice and Posting on file. The meeting had been <br />called by the Mayor to consider the Bond Issue recommendation from the Santa <br />Ana Blue Ribbon Bond Study Committee. <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized Mr. Courtney Chandler, Chairman of the Bond Study <br />Committee, who read aloud the letter of recommendation from the Committee <br />dated January 6, 1971.
