AGENDA ORDER <br /> <br />The Council unanimously agreed to <br />consider Agenda Items ll(a), 12, 39, <br />43, and 49 next, in that order. <br /> <br />BID CALL On motion of Councilman Yarnamoto, <br /> seconded by Councilman Markel and <br /> unanimously carried, Council <br />approved plans and specifications and authorized advertising for bids on the <br />following: <br /> <br />PROJECT 5009 - To construct traffic signal and safety <br />lighting at Euclid Street and Hazard Avenue (reference: <br />Agreement with City of Garden Grove dated January 19, 1970) <br /> <br />ORD. NS-1071 ORDINANCE NS-1071 AMENDING <br />ON-SALE LIQUOR AND BEER THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> BY AMENDING SECTIONS 41-395 AND <br />41-412 OF CHAPTER 41 THEREOF PERTAINING TO ON-SALE LIQUOR AND <br />BEER ESTABLISI-IMENTS was adopted, on motion of Councilman Patterson, <br />seconded by Councilman Evans, and carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Herrin, Evans, Markel, Patterson, Villa, Yamamoto, <br /> Griset <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Prior to adoption, the City Attorney was requested to clarify the reason for this <br />amendment. Mr. John Gruhler, 4614 W. Melric Drive, asked who originally <br />introduced this Or(lin&nce; it was stated that Councilman Yamamoto originally <br />requested it, and that the majority of the Council have been in favor of it. <br /> <br />VARIANCES AND The following applications were <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS received and ordered filed, on <br /> motion of Councilman Patterson, <br />seconded by Councilman Villa and unanimously carried: <br /> <br />VA 71-4, SOUTH COAST PLAZA & HOWARD BEAR - To <br />construct a planned shopping center in the R 1 District at <br />1675 W. Sunflower Avenue; APPROVED. <br /> <br />VA 71-8, SANTA ANA MOOSE LODGE #1025 - To permit <br />the establishment of a lodge for a fraternal organization <br />in the A 1 District; APPROVED. <br /> <br />CUP71-3, KAM FOY YEE & SIU LOONG YEE - To construct <br />a restaurant and cocktail lounge in the C 5 District which <br />is within 300' of the R 1 District at 1421 E. Seventeenth <br />Street; APPROVED. <br /> <br /> VA 71-6, 3AMES A. CARTER - To construct a two-story <br /> garden apartment complex in the A1 and R 2 Districts at <br /> 517 S.
