Therefore, implementation of <br />the proposed project would not expose people within the project <br />area to significant aircraft noise impacts. <br /> <br />XII. POPULATION AND HOUSING <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Induce substantial population growth in an area, either <br />directly or indirectly through extension of roads or <br />other infrastructure. <br /> <br />Less Than Significant Impact <br /> <br />Based on population estimates from the California Department of <br />Finance, there were 343,700 residents in the City of Santa Ana <br />in 2002. Presently, the average household size in Santa Ana is <br />4 . 65 persons. The proposed proj ect would add an addi t ional 1 7 <br />single-family dwelling units to the City's existing housing <br />stock. Based on the City's current average household size, the <br />population in the City is projected to increase by approximately <br />79 persons. This increase is consistent with the City's General <br />Plan proj ections.
