VARIANCES AND <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS <br /> <br />Councilman Herrin: <br /> <br />Councilman Evans' motion to <br />receive and file the following <br />application was seconded by <br /> <br />VA 71-35, WILLIAM MILES - To allow an R 1 residential <br />subdivision in the A 1 District and construction of model <br />homes prior to the recordation of a final tract map for <br />Tract 7434, located at 3115 S. Greenville Street; APPROVED. <br /> <br />The motion carried on the following roll call vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Evans, I-Ierrin, Villa, Griset, Yamamoto <br />Markel <br />Patterson <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman F, vans, and <br />unanimously carried, the following application was received and ordered <br />file d: <br /> <br />VA 71-36, FAR WEST FAIRHAVEN, LTD. - To allow con- <br />struction of two-story garden apartments in the C 5 District <br />at 1275 E. Fairhaven Avenue; APPROVED. <br /> <br />ASSESSMENT DISTRICT #225 Letters were presented from the <br /> Salvation Army and the Santa Ana <br /> Unified School District requesting <br />completion of sidewalks and curbs in the vicinity of Diamond Elementary <br />School, Smedley Junior High School and Santa Ana Valley High School. <br /> <br />Public Works Director stated that he has talked with Major Cisar, who <br />agreed that the request contained in his letter of July 21 should be a <br />separate action from proposed Assessment District 225 and should not <br />complicate the time schedule already set up for improvements in this area <br />under the 1911 Assessment Act; that a public hearing on this matter will be <br />set for October 4, 1971, and oral or written communications may be presented <br />at that time; that if protests exceed 50% of the ownership in the area, a 4/5 <br />vote of the Council would be required in order to proceed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Villa, seconded by Councilman Evans, and <br />unanimously carried, Council received and ordered filed all documents <br />presented in this matter. <br /> <br />Councilman.Patterson arrived at 2:30 P.M. <br /> <br />FEDERAL COURT BRANCH On motion of Councilman Patterson, <br /> seconded by Councilman Yamamoto, <br /> and unanimously carried, Council <br />adopted RESOLUTION 71-75 ENDORSING THE INCLUSION OF A UNITED <br />STATES DISTRICT COURT WITHIN THE FEDERAL BUILDING TO BE BUILT <br />IN THE CIVIC CENTER. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL -263- August 2, 1971 <br /> <br /> <br />
