MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />July 31, 1972 <br /> <br />An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha was <br />convened at 12:10 P.M., at the Jolly Ox Restaurant, 2201 E. First Street, <br />proper Notice and Posting having been accomplished, with affidavits on file with <br />the Clerk of the Council. The following Councilmen were present: Vernon So <br />Evans, Wade Serrin, Jerry M. Patterson, Ray Villa, 3. Ogden Markel, Harry Ko <br />Yamamoto, and Mayo~,Lorin Griset. Also present were City Attorney James A. <br />Wi~hers, Clerk of the~Council Florence I. Malone and representatives of the <br />AoD. Little Company, Robert Coop and Norman Roberts. <br /> <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE The City Attorney advised that <br />LICENSE APPLICATION Mrs. Cora Balch, 606 East First <br /> Street, had agreed to withdraw her <br />request to Council on July 3, to protest the application for an on-sale beer, person- <br />to-person transfer of the Lasso Bar license, 610 E. First Street due to an agree- <br />ment between the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and the new owners, Raymond <br />and Linda L. Nichols. <br /> <br />The City Attorney was directed to notify the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board of the <br />withdrawal of the protest, on motion of Councilman Herrin, seconded by Councilman <br />Markel and carried, with Councilman Yamamoto dissenting. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION At 12:55 P.M., on motion of <br /> Councilman Villa, seconded by <br /> Councilman Herrin, Council recessed <br />for an Executive Session to hear reports from the City Attorney regarding pending <br />litigation an~d from the representatives of A.D. Little Company regarding recruit- <br />ment of a City Manager, respectively. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 2:40 P.M., the City Council <br /> reconvened with all Councilmen <br /> present and the meeting was <br />declared adjourned to Monday, August 7, 1972,~ at 12:00 Noon, City Hall Annex, <br />530 North Ross Street, for an Executive Session to further consider the appoint- <br />ment of a City Manager and to interview applicants at h00 P.M. for appointment <br />to the Personnel Board~ on the unanimously carried motion of Councilman <br />Yamamoto, seconded by Councilman Villa. <br /> <br />Florence I.
