State guidelines require the items be properly <br />laundered in order to maintain a safe, heal thy environment for the <br />inmates and detention staff. The jail facility utilizes a five-step <br />laundry system consisting of a programmable liquid supply that allows <br />for proper disbursement of laundry chemicals. Ecolab Incorporated <br />offers a laundering system that meets the jail facility's requirements <br />and specifications. . <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS - 2 312 authori zes the City to purchase <br />against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid <br />process. The County of Ventura awarded a contract for laundry <br />chemicals to Ecolab Incorporated based upon the resul t of an open, <br />competitive process, and allows other governmental agencies to purchase <br />laundry chemicals as specified at the same price. The recommended <br />purchase from Ecolab Incorporated meets the Police Department Jail <br />Facility's requirements and, as a result, staff recommends renewing the <br />contract with Ecolab Incorporated. <br /> <br />22L-1 <br /> <br />CS. 383 <br />
