<br />ORDINANCE NO. NS-2668 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ADDING SECTION 41- <br />195 (f) (10) TO THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE <br />DISPLAY OF WILD OR EXOTIC ANIMALS DURING TEMPORARY <br />OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN SANTA ANA <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. It is the intent of the City of Santa Ana to protect the public against health <br />and safety risks that the use and display of exotic animals in temporary <br />outdoor facilities for entertainment poses to the community as well as to <br />protect the welfare of the individual animals. <br /> <br />B. All provisions of the Santa Ana Municipal Code which are repeated herein <br />are repeated solely in order to comply with the provisions of section 418 of <br />the Charter of the City of Santa Ana. Any such restatement of existing <br />provisions of the Code is not intended, nor shall it be interpreted, as <br />constituting a new action or decision of the City Council, but rather such <br />provisions are repeated for tracking purposes only in conformance with <br />the Charter. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That Article /I of Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is <br />hereby amended by the addition of Section 41-195(f)(10) to read as follows (additions to <br />existing code shown in bold): <br /> <br />Sec. 41-195.5. Temporary outdoor activities. <br /> <br />Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the following activities <br />may be conducted in any C1, C1-MD, C2, C3, C3-A, C4, C5, M1, M2, <br />CSM, GC, P, SD with commercial use, or SP with commercial use district <br />and are not required to be carried on within an enclosed building, provided <br />they are carried on in accordance with the limitations hereinafter set forth, <br />and provided a land use certificate is first obtained in accordance with <br />sections 41-675 through 41-677: <br /> <br />(a) Bazaars, fiestas and fund-raising events, provided the activities do <br />not occur on the same lot more frequently than six (6) days in any one- <br />year period, do not continue on the same lot for more than three (3) <br />successive days, do not begin earlier than 10:00 a.m. and do not continue <br />past 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and do not begin earlier than <br /> <br />50A-2 <br /> <br />
