Johnson <br />and Corrie E. Johnson, Trustees for the Johnson Family Trust dated <br />September 28, 2000, for the structure located at 624 South Birch Street. <br /> <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION ACTION <br /> <br />Recommended that the City Council direct the City Attorney to prepare and <br />authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute an <br />agreement with James A. Johnson and Corrie E. Johnson, Trustees for the <br />Johnson Family Trust dated September 28, 2000, for the structure located <br />at 624 South Birch Street at its September 2, 2004 meeting by a vote of <br />8:0 (Gartner absent). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />After the public hearing on September 2, 2004, the Historic Resources <br />Commission reviewed the proposed Historic Property Preservation Agreement <br />(Mills Act Contract) and concluded that the resulting potential property <br />tax savings would encourage the owner to reinvest the tax savings in the <br />maintenance of their historic property, and would benefit both the owner <br />and the community (Exhibit A). Additionally, the agreement prevents <br />inappropriate alterations. <br /> <br />25F-1 <br />
