The students were: <br /> <br />Miguel Lopez, from Paraguay, attending Santa Aha High School; <br />Brenda Goggs, from Australia, attending Saddleback High School; and <br />Vincent Huehner, from West Germany, attending Valley High School. <br /> <br />Also recognized were two Santa Ana students, Amelio Adame, who had <br />resided for a year in Linares, Chili, and Ruth Ann English, who had <br />spent a summer in Austria. Amelio Adame presented the Mayor with a <br />gift from Mayor Dagoberto Jofre Rojas of Linares, and a letter from <br />Mayor Rojas was read. (CA 9.9; CA 46) <br /> <br />COMMUNITY .REDEVELOPMENT Gordon Bricken and Robert <br />COMMISSION C. Newcomb were sworn <br /> in by the Clerk as members <br />of the Community Redevelopment Commission. (CA 82.1) <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING The Mayor announced that it <br />SALE OF "OLD CITY HALL" was the time and place for <br />SPR 73-2 the sale of real property <br /> commonly referred to as <br />"Old City Hall", located on the east side of Main at the corner of Third and <br />Main, and realpropertylocated on the west side of Bush at the corner of <br />Third and Bush, and real property located on the east side of Bush at the <br />corner of Third and Bush, with a minimum bid of $1Z5,000.00. <br /> <br />The Mayor stated that potential bidders who had not been provided with a <br />copy of the Agreement for Purchase and Sale of Property could obtain one <br />from the Clerk of the Council and review it prior to opening of the bidding. <br />Hearing no response, the Mayor called for an opening bid in the amount of <br />$125,000.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Hector Godinez, on behalf of Del Pueblo Management and Development Co., <br />2509 South Main Street, after verifying with Council that a deposit represent- <br />ing 10% of the amount of the bid would have to be presented that evening and <br />that ~he building would have to be brought up to Code within one and one-half <br />years from the date of the closing of escrow, bid the sum of $125,000.00. <br /> <br />The Mayor called for additional bids, and after three calls .with no response, <br />declared the property sold to Del Pueblo Management and Development Co., <br />and instructed the buyer to deliver to the Clerk 10% of the bid in the form <br />of cash, cashier's check, or certified check. <br /> <br />Mr. Godinez presented a cashier's check in the amount of SlY, 500.00 to <br />the Clerk. <br /> <br />Mr. Godinez then showed to Council and the audience an architectural <br />rendering of plans to remodel the existing "Old City Hall", which would <br />house the facilities of the Banco del Pueblo Commercial Bank and contain <br />additlonal office space for potentlallessees.
